Step by Step Guide
Below is a step by step guide to how our systems are put
together. If you have any questions regarding the installation,
please do not hesitate to contact us.

Step 1 : Insulation
Our first step is to lay insulation onto the floor, depending on the depth available we will select an appropriate thickness of insulation. We also supply this insulation so if your a keen DIY'er you can lay it yourself.

We are distributors for Ursa XPS insulation, which is an extruded insulation with a thermal conductivity range between 0.029 and 0.038 W/ (m · K)! If you want to find out more about this insulation then please click here.
Step 2 : Edge Insulation & Plastic
We run a strip of edging insulation approximately 10mm thick around the perimiter of the rooms, this allows for expansion when the screed is set. We also lay a plastic sheet over the entire floor area making sure that it is completely sealed.
Step 3 : The Manifold
We will have pre arranged a location for the heating manifold, this is where all of the pipes laid on the floor will be returned to, and where the boiler is connected. This is usually placed in a cupboard, or basement area out of the way.

Step 4 : Pipework
Using our designs, we lay a circuit (or several) of pipes around the building. These are securely attached to the insulation using specialist clips.

Step 5 : Connection and Testing
We connect all the pipes to the manifold and do a series of tests including pressure tests to ensure there are no problems with the installation.
Step 6 : Screeding
As part of our complete package we are also able to pour self-levelling screed to a pre-defined height. The screeds we use usually allow you to walk on the floor after only 24 hours.
